dating and getting engaged in a nutshell (4/3/06)

I met Steve last April on match dot com. My listing specifically said I
wanted a Southern boy with NO CHILDREN. Yes, it was capitalized. He
responded saying he was English and had a 13-year-old son in the old
country. I didn't reply for a couple of weeks.

When we went on our first date, I knew I'd met my closest friend ever.
I laughed so hard my face hurt and I had the going-out voice the next
day. Fast forward through the dating, you saw our Halloween picture.

December 14: I had a crazy day at work. Had to write and produce a
song for the first time ever, with 24 hours notice.

Came home strung out on adrenaline. We had an hour to kill before we
left for Michael Palmer's 40th birthday party in Cary. I was talking a
hundred miles an hour, bouncing between the subjects of my day and our
Christmas plans. Steve told me he had everybody's Christmas presents
ready to go to Shallotte, but he had one for me he wanted to give me
when we got home from Michael's dinner. I immediately knew what he was
talking about and freaked out saying "No, don't give it to me. What is
it? No, don't give it to me."

So he went in the house and got it. He got down on one knee and asked.
I had to put my cigarette out and all I could come up with was "Okay."
He was wearing his slippers. This story is so apropos of our
relationship.

I like your story. Well, I want to share mine with you. Yes actually it was on RichSoulMate.com, she had contacted me, by a wink, and had no picture, usually when a person winks and has no picture I would respond to say, no thank you, but this time out I stretched my boundaries and read her profile, one statement stood out that has been my philosophy for a long time and that is, she stated "that there should be a person out there who wants to be with me as much as I want to be with them" I have felt this way for some time and without actually seeing someone else write it, I thought that it was a futile statement. Well, here you are is it a success story only time will tell!
