That was more awesome than Chuck Norris!

And other non sequiturs from my day at the state fair with Steve and Robby.

***

Robby: I want one of those Virgin Mary blankets 'cause I'm a big old virgin!

Me: And you're a big old Mary.

***

Random kid on ride (to Robby and me): Can you guys handle rides?

Me: Yeah. Can you?

(Kid screams "help" throughout ride)

Me to visibly shaken kid: I thought you said you could handle it.

***

Steve: It's like the best of capitalism; you can get anything you want to eat.

Robby: And you can get it on a stick!

***

Me: I never dreamed a camel would whisper in my ear.

***

Age-guesser to Steve: Hey man, it's alright. My wife's a lot younger than me, too.

(Steve is exactly one month older than me.)

***

Robby: That Elizabeth Dole booth is the loneliest booth at the fair.

***

Random man in line for a ride as I'm screaming "Wooooo!" like a redneck: Aren't you that lady who writes for the paper?

***

Me, after walking for six hours: I'm aware of my knees right now.

***

Steve, this morning: What are we going to do with a giant, inflatable bat and a Pikachu?

Ah, you fell prey to the inflatable goods. Did you also buy a Sham-wow! towel? :)

I love that your celebrity followed you to the state fair, btw! That's awesome!

Diff Girl! During my two-month sabbatical last spring, I watched a lot of late-night television and Vince from Sham-wow caused me a lot of nightmares. Even more when I read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vince_Offer
