Because right now, I could just lie down and die.
Seriously.
Yeah yeah yeah, I've never hidden my Obamania around here. And like everybody else, I will always have a permastamp memory of watching the inauguration yesterday and witnessing history being made. How amazing was it?
But I can't stop watching their first dance (and I've only ever heard one Beyonce song in my life). They're in front of the entire world, talking to and laughing at each other. Just like Steve and I did in front of 60 people at our wedding reception when we had our first dance to the Roxy Music song I picked out 25 years earlier.
They were talking to and laughing at each other. Just like most of us do with our partners.
Just like most of us.
Gonna watch this again and cry a few more happy tears like I did during my wedding dance.

First, can I just say how jealous I am that you've only heard one Beyonce song in your life?! I just hope that one song wasn't 'Single Ladies'!
I, too, loved that, in the midst of all that commotion, those two could seem oblivious and enjoy each other and celebrate the achievement of what they'd worked together for so long for. It was beautiful to see.
(p.s. What about Destiny's Child? Did you escape them, too?!)
p.p.s. What has become of Sting?! He looks like the dude who shuffles around the Interstate exit ramp who talks to himself.
Diff Girl- I live a very sheltered life. I usually stay home listening to mix tapes on my Walkman, announcing to my cats, from time to time, "Now that's music!" :)
With you on Sting... he looked like he smelled bad. Blargh.
