The moment the world stopped spinning on its axis

If you're a long-time reader of this blog, you've followed the story of my mother getting mad at me for using her name in the past because she didn't like being Googlable to a picture of me sprawled like Courtney Love on the sidewalk of the Cat's Cradle three years ago. So I went back through all the entries and removed her name and replaced it with "my mother."

Today, I sent her a Hallmark e-card saying something like, "Thanks for loving me even though I grew up to be a pink-haired girl. I promise to never use your real name in print or on the blog. :)"

I got this response:

Love it!!!! I'm no longer on the state board. Feel free to use my name whenever you like. As for the pink hair...I must admit it's cute!
Love you and thank you for making me soooooooooooo proud!
Ma

Happy Mother's Day, Miss Birdie. You will always be a rock star in my eyes.

I simply cannot believe what I'm reading.

The cuteness was unquestionable. Still, this is a proud moment in history.

I liked your electric blue hair best.

By the way, my dad asked about you the other day--as he does occasionally--and he asked me what color your hair is now. I think it's so funny that he remembers that!

Your mom is the best!
