Thunderstorms
Thunderstorms are wild.
Rain falls down.
Grass crackles next to the house.
Humidity rises up
Lightning flashes next to the sea.
Grass burns outside!
Thunderstorms have awesome weather conditions.

I was just a small-town girl, living in a lonely world. I took the midnight train from Shallotte, to Elon College, to London and down some ridiculous roads in publishing and advertising. Now I'm a corporate communications hack, blogging silly stories about herself.

Joshua, that poem describes thunderstorms perfectly. You are such a creative writer just like your Aunt Lee Lee!
Hi Joshua,
I'm out in Oregon and we just had a lot of wind, rain, thunder and lightning. Your poem is right on the mark. Good writing!Keep at it.

Joshua, thank you for your poem. I love the mystery in the lines about the grass -- crackling and burning! That's exactly the way it feels in a thunderstorm, like anything can happen. You are right that it is awe-some! Please write another poem soon. Love from Nana
Wow, Joshua. Your poem is really good! I teach English and I think you have talent like some of the great poets of the world because you are so skilled with imagery. I could really imagine the thunderstorm because of the phrases about the grass crackling and lighning flashing next to the sea. I can't wait to read more!!
Wow, Joshie! That is such a good poem! Uncle Steve and I love thunderstorms, and you just made the best poem ever about why they rock. You are an awesome writer.
Send me letters!
I love you and miss you!!!!!

Joshua,
Thank you for writing the great poem about thunderstorms. You're right on the money! Keep on writing just like your aunt!
Hey Joshua - Aunt Lee Lee showed me your poem last night and we both agreed that it was great! Keep writing - you are very good at it.
Your poem rocks - just like thunderstorms do! I can hardly wait for summer to arrive so I can sit on the porch and watch the storms move in across the sky. Until then, I can read your poem and feel the excitement.
You should write more weather poems! That way - fans like me can have any kind of day they want, no matter what the weather is outside.
Hi Joshua!
Love your poem! It awakes memories of the fury of childhood storms when we would close all doors and windows, turn out the lights, and sit silently in the dark with our parents until the storm was over. Then, the adults would assess the damage if lightning had hit the house as it did many times – and the kids would run outside to search the crystal blue skies for double rainbows.
You have great talent. Look forward to more of your poems and stories.
I love you!
Aunt Jo
What a great poem! Such vivid imagery. It makes me happy to think of summer thunderstorms. I am always excited when it rains in the summer and I can imagine the water helping all of the delicious vegetables grow in the garden. It won't be long now!
You are a very talented writer, Joshie.
Love you!
Auntie Jessica
Joshua,
You have a very special gift. I would hope you would keep a daily journal. Your usage of words, at your age, is awesome. Pops and I are sooooooooo proud of you.
Love you,
